Hotel pre-opening advice from a former general manager.
The months before opening decide the first year's results. I help owners check readiness, budgets, hiring, systems and the opening-year commercial plan before the doors open, not after.
For owners, developers and ownership groups opening a new hotel, converting a property or re-opening after renovation.

What does a hotel pre-opening consultant do?
Reviews whether a new or converted hotel is ready to open and to make money: budget, hiring, systems, standards and the first-year revenue plan, from the owner's side.
When should I bring in pre-opening support?
Ideally 6 to 12 months before opening, when budgets, hiring and systems can still be changed at reasonable cost.
Have you led a hotel pre-opening?
Yes. In September 2016 I was appointed to lead the pre-opening of a 305-room Park Inn by Radisson property in the Gulf, after three years as general manager of Park Inn by Radisson Baku.
Is the work remote or on-site?
Both. Reviews can start remotely; on-site work in Ontario and across Canada is scoped and priced in writing before it starts.
