Hotels · Toronto and the Greater Toronto Area

Hotel consultant for owners in Toronto and the GTA.

Independent, owner-side advice for hotels across Toronto, Mississauga, Oakville, Burlington and the wider GTA, as well as Hamilton. I find where your hotel is losing profit and turn it into a 90-day plan your team can run.

For hotel owners, ownership groups, general managers and asset managers of independent, franchised and managed hotels in the Greater Toronto Area.

What I look at

What a GTA hotel review covers

Rate and demand

Pricing against the GTA compset, event and conference demand, and weekday versus weekend mix.

Distribution cost

Net ADR after OTA, GDS and wholesale commissions, and the direct-booking share.

Labour productivity

Hours per occupied room and schedules against forecast, in an Ontario wage market.

Food and beverage

Whether restaurants, banquets and meetings add to GOP or quietly subtract from it.

Flow-through

How much of each extra revenue dollar actually reaches gross operating profit.

Commercial rhythm

The weekly revenue meeting, decision rights and follow-through.

What you receive

Four documents, written for owners

  1. 01

A ranked diagnosis — urgent leakage, structural issues and longer-term opportunities.

  2. 02

A 90-day plan with actions, named owners and decision dates.

  3. 03

A KPI scorecard — occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, net RevPAR, GOPPAR and labour cost.

  4. 04

An owner and leadership debrief — where the plan gets agreed, not just delivered.

Questions owners ask

Answered plainly

Do you work on-site in Toronto and the GTA?

Yes. I am based in Oakville, so on-site visits across the GTA can be arranged. The entry-level revenue diagnostic is remote and takes five business days.

How much does a hotel consultant cost in Toronto?

The Revenue Diagnostic is CA$750 and is credited in full against a larger engagement started within 90 days. The annual revenue optimization engagement is CA$20,000 for 12 months, with scope and delivery arrangements agreed in writing before work begins.

Do you work for the owner or the operator?

The owner's side of the table. I give an independent view and support the general manager, rather than replacing the management company or revenue manager.

What types of hotels do you work with?

Independent, franchised and managed hotels, from select-service properties to full-service hotels with food, beverage and meeting space.
